No, live in person meetings inside the prison. Visiting Rikers was an all day thing. It's tough to drive there. It took hours to get through security.
That sounds like a waste of time. I know at courthouses they have special lanes for lawyers. While everyone else has to take off their shoes and get their bags scanned.

I'm retired now. Back in the day I sometimes had to fly to meet clients.

But you are in california, right? Did you have to pass a bunch of bar tests to work in each state?

No, I lived in California for a while but I was a New York lawyer. Each state is different regarding reciprocity of admissions. Florida and California were the worst when I was practicing. Most other states will let you practice once you meet certain requirements.

Nah. I'm retired and I don't keep up with law at all. That part of my life is over.
