No, live in person meetings inside the prison. Visiting Rikers was an all day thing. It's tough to drive there. It took hours to get through security.
That sounds like a waste of time.
I know at courthouses they have special lanes for lawyers.
While everyone else has to take off their shoes and get their bags scanned.

Yes, but not in jails. They don't trust defense lawyers.

No, I lived in California for a while but I was a New York lawyer. Each state is different regarding reciprocity of admissions. Florida and California were the worst when I was practicing. Most other states will let you practice once you meet certain requirements.
