Typical domestic beer is probably about $1-$1.50 a can/bottle. At a bar, it is typically $6-7. You can find cheaper prices at dive bars, but most places charge that.
@grayruby or @Undisciplined can tell us what it costs in North America?
That sounds similar to where I live, probably a bit more expensive actually.
I'm not much of a beer or bar guy, so if beer shot up in price I wouldn't have noticed.

Well, I'm also not a beer or bar guy. In fact I searched the prices then answered.
I know one thing for sure that beer is cheapest in Goa, India as many of my mates tell me after visiting there.
Do alcohal prices vary from state to state in USA? They do here.

That's interesting. I thought Goa was full of white tourists and expats, which would drive UP the prices on non-essentials...

Yes, there are enormous differences in alcohol taxes across states.
