Venezuela now...
reply
Oh, I see someone took the garbage out instead of burning it for heat! People are learning, it is just that fiat went down the tubes faster in Venezuela than in other places, but it is sure to fall. Fiat has never, never in all of history, not managed to go to zero value. Ours is bound for the same destination, just how fast is the question.

Someone found a great use for the useless banknotes, handicrafted objects like purses. Very useful! I keep a 1,000,000,000,000 dollar Zimbabwe bank note on my wall to remind me of what happens to real banknote fiat! I also have a $1,000,000 US (fake) note on that wall to be an even stronger reminder.

I gave a wad of these bills to my daughter to play with, there is not one left, it has ended up in the trash. A few years ago on the Colombian border, Colombians bought them, but I don't know the reasons.
reply
Maybe they needed something for insulation in the walls and ceilings in Colombia. Crumpled paper serves as a good insulator.
reply
haha yeah, just paper to wipe your butt. That's why Bitcoin adoption has grown quite a bit in Venezuela.

Skiing / snowboarding season already opened on the mountains for us last week, but no snow on low elevations yet. Hoping the small lakes would freeze over again this winter so we can skate on them.

OMG
You guys are freezing over there and we're melting over here.
P.S.: I love your photo
reply
I love the snow but I have to drive in it later. Not looking forward to that but it looks so beautiful when it first falls.
reply
I love seeing the results of the first considerable snow of the season! Nothing like a sh*tton of cars in the ditches, spun out cars and 50 car pile ups! There are so many fools out there that do not adjust to the new situation. Sort of reminds me about BTC and fiat, when the fiat inflation runs hot and heavy.

It's beautiful only when you don't have to deal with it haha. You made me remember a video about a person who immigrated to Canada, he starts talking about how beautiful and how much he loves the snow and ends up distilling hate hahaha

I'm a big fan of /random
SN is a treasure trove of backcatalog of content. My only suspicion is that usage of random is a low usage feature.
reply
I use random as a base to zap old content. I don't want anymore to reveal what I zap today. Too many assmilkers following the leaderboard. So I constructed a different protocol for my zaps, like a ninja-zapper. Indeed, old posts are good ones. And sometimes I miss some and finding them in "random" is a nice surprise.

It's cold as hell around these parts. I had to walk my dogs after getting 4 hours sleep. Serves me right for staying out too late. Our new dog is doing well, except when we're not looking she grabs the kitchen sponge from behind the sink and eats the damn thing whole. She's gotten two in the last week. So far her digestive system is handling it, I think. I hope we don't get a blockage situation.
reply
hahaha put some vinegar on another sponge and leave it around to find it. Once will encounter few times that vinegar smell, will not touch it anymore.

Happiness Journal 1/12/24
In an ideal world, I would be a self-sustaining travel blogger, but in view of parenting pressures and financial responsibilities, it’s a path I have forsaken. But then again, I can just blog about my travels on my blog and hope that I make it big one day. This post is about my visit to Coffee Gallery at Kumamoto Airport.

Only pay to post.
The incentive will be exclusively in p2p zaps.
