Hmmm... I just realized the Celtics have played all their games and do not have a game tomorrow. That means their pt diff of +23 is set. In other words, if Knicks beat the Magic, that is it, Knicks will win group and Magic will be wildcard (unless Knicks beat Magic by more than 37pts, which I don't think will happen). If Magic beats Knicks, then Knicks will be out since they're +15 now, and it depends on how much Bucks beat Pistons (+28 now) if they do beat them. I don't know why somehow I kept thinking Celtics has another game, but I guess not.
This means Magic is highly likely to advance even if they lose, because of their high pts diff.
That's right, which is why the Celtics making it seemed pretty likely to me.
However, the odds of both conditions being met are probably relatively low.

It just takes the Knicks to beat the Magic by less than 37 points to keep the Celtics out, which I think is a rather likely outcome. Let's see what happens tonight. Looking forward to watching some good basketball.
