Trying to get a merchant set up to accept bitcoin and lightning payments. The blind leading the blind.
I use opennode on our site,
globalmerchant.io
it works.
https://opennode.com/
So basically we use shopify and integrated opennode to allow customers to pay in Bitcoin.
WE WANT TO GET SATS, WE ARE NOT, REPEAT NOT converting to any fiat, our goal is to GET SATS AND USE IN THE REAL B2B MERCHANT WORLD OF USING FOR TO PAY SUPPLIERS AND PARTICIPATE IN THE CIRCULAR BITCOIN ECONOMY.
("stay safe and hodl") is a great idea, but when will humans actually use Bitcoin ?
Some things to keep in mind:
B2B or B2C merchants all need the very, very, very, basic stuff on their website:
Automatic shipping confirmations sent to their customer at time of payment, regardless of the size of the order.
Automatic packing lists printed (if you want to print it).
Automatic shipping info (tracking number) sent by email to the customer.
Automatic notification sent to the merchant that an order was received so you are aware and can do the manual order packing asap to make the above happen.
Shopify is the default used platform, the merchant can select various Bitcoin payment acceptance methods with little difficulty to add to the payment options for the customer.
Years back we tried accepting JUST Bitcoin on ibexpay (ibexpay pulled out of supporting the usa, we got notified and moved to opennode).
============ Please note we also use zaprite and send manual invoices, this is also an important tool. You can read more about our reasoning here https://globalmerchant.io/pages/bitcoin-lightning-liquid-l-btc
Yes it's a wonderful World we could pay for a beer or a cup of coffee using lightning somewhere in the World B2C, But we are running a wholesale business.
The sad news is very, very, very few actual users paying in Bitcoin.
95% of our B2B customers are in other Countries, we have to include the Harmon Codes ON EACH PRODUCT. When using shopify, it's easy they have a field to include the code for each product, when your adding products to your departments (shopify calls them collections).
Over the years I have read and continue to read soooooooooo many blogs, postings, videos about paying and ONLY USING YOUR OWN NODE.
That's cool, in the meantime shopify with a bitcoin payment processor is an excellent baby steps in getting started.
If your friend or anyone else has questions, they should do their homework and actually try things. 99% ARE LAZY they won't ever actually use Bitcoin in their business B2B or B2C.
SATSTASH.IO
I just started using satstash.io might want to check it out.
This is a live example

Darth
has many great writings and ibexpay is shown, but when ibexpay notified us a year or so back that they are pulling out of USA support, is why I switched. I even did a medium writing on how "happy I was using ibexpay".
Actually I have found over the last 4-5 years some of my friends/clients have tried and occasionally use (read accept) usdt when they pay for their miners etc.
