I always zap ONLY the new users bio that I know / invite or they post something really good before.
As I explained here: #686524
I see many people jumping into "welcome" without even thinking. Most of new users will change their bio in the next days.
Thanks for the reminder. It seems it was a rain of new Stackers today. However I don't take any precautions zapping everyone of them 10 sats with a suggestion to read a series of introductory posts for SN.
You can reply without a zap, no? Wait until they showed some more effort?
You could also put more effort into your greeting by actually engaging with what they wrote than simply replying with some copy-pasta. That would be showing them the way, not act like a bot like you do now.
Hmm that I'll do but I don't really zap everyone as I said. I read their bios and only zap those who have been zapped and replied with welcoming comments. If someone seems like a shitcoiner or who doesn't have welcoming comments with good number of sats, I don't zap.
I thought a few sats will enable them to go ahead as they can't really post everywhere without sats. Or am I wrong?
However I don't take any precautions zapping everyone of them 10 sats
Can I take my words back? I made this comment rather enthusiastically. When you commented, I again looked at my today's zaps and I found that I left a few. One was without any zaps and other mentioned "crypto enthusiast" in his bio.
Sorry, I'll amend this and will be careful next time.
Thanks for the warning. Since someone got me going on SN by zapping me heavily, i have been here. I have been trying to “pay it forward” but I was noticing a heavy influx of new names. I guess I will just hold my zapping for posts and comments, now.
You can switch off the zap feature in the BIOS. Everyone can write their bios, but they must be part of the profile info and not published as a post. This prevents bios from being zapped.
