Mercifully, I didn't have to watch this week's disastrous performance. The silver lining is that we now have the top pick and don't have to worry about not getting our guy. Of course, the last time the Raiders took a QB at #1, he turned out to be the biggest bust in NFL history.

The Picks:

  • 1: QB Shedeur Sanders
  • 34: WR Emeka Egbuka
  • 65: OT Marcus Mbow
  • 69: IOL Donovan Jackson
  • 103: DT Jordan Burch
  • 139: LB Lander Barton
  • 178: CB Domani Jackson
  • 212: RB D.J. Giddens
  • 216: DE Fadil Diggs
  • 217: DT Joshua Farmer
With such premium draft capital, it's time to get serious about improving the offense. No messing around in this draft: plug the holes.
Nice. Offense heavy with first four picks. What's your biggest need on D?
My only quibble would be maybe you use one of the top four picks on D.
reply
I'm not sure.
Our pass rush needs to be better, but we're also getting back our 2nd and 3rd best pass rushers.
Our run defense needs to be better, but again, we're missing our best DT.
The three starting corners are good, but there's no depth behind them and there might not be a legit CB1.
I'd say DT is the biggest need. Although, I might be more inclined to use a high pick on an elite corner prospect, if he falls down the boards.

I do think it makes sense to give your young QB the best OLine and weapons possible.

We also need to entice an elite offensive minded coach to come to Vegas. Giving him all of the Day 1 and day 2 picks should help.
reply
Which coaches do you think they will target?
reply
I haven't heard anything substantial. I'd be surprised if they don't try for Vrabel, though.
I'd prefer a young offensive minded coach, but that hasn't been Davis' approach.

Maybe Slowik from the Texans. Obviously Ben Johnson would likely be the best option but who knows if he wants to go to Raiders.
reply
Maybe, but I haven’t been that impressed with them this season.
