That moment when you realize we had a race condition regarding invoice states all along, but our code was just too slow to trigger it.
If I have sats in my SN wallet, why am I unable to create comments?
I think my sending wallet is unreachable at the moment, but shouldn't invoices be paid from my SN wallet first?
Also, I'm not getting an option to pay them any other way.

edit: mhh, it did pay from my SN wallet. Need more information, it should definitely try the SN wallet first. Are you sure it was enough to pay the comment since they cost 10x more for replies in the same thread within 10 minutes?

We will improve the QR fallback soon but for now, you can disable your wallet to get a QR code when you're having problems with it. You don't need to completely detach it, just uncheck the
enabled box.reply

I've been stuck trying to "retry payment". Is the issue that the initial payment tried to charge my attached wallet?

No, the issue is it still tries to pay from your wallet because it's probably still enabled. If you disable it, you should get a QR code.
edit: Oh, you probably mean why it's not trying the custodial sats first: not sure, it should.
