I recently published a new blog post about the Cypherpunks, a fascinating topic I wanted to dive deep into long ago since it has been a recurrent subject in almost every book about Bitcoin I've read. Pioneers of privacy in the digital age, here is a summary of my learnings about their philosophy, goals, impact, and the legacy they left us.

In the early ’90s, with the internet on the rise, a group called the Cypherpunks emerged to defend digital privacy. They pushed for encryption and privacy tech, shaping our digital world with their vision and ideals.

Great article. Thanks for posting.
How did the cypherpunks support themselves financially during this time? Were these projects backed by investors or was this all something they did on their own time?

Good question! From what I gather, the Cypherpunks pretty much did their thing on their own. They were all about using their own time and resources, fueled by a serious passion for keeping privacy and crypto strong. Not much reliance on outside cash, just a bunch of dedicated folks doing what they believed in :)
