I always used this display in my wallets.
Is the most logic one.
Onchain you are doing transactions, that means bitcoin (with display 8 decimals). You are holding, not making payments.
On LN you are doing payments, that means you are dealing with sats. The whole LN system is using sats (not bitcoin) and even msats (mostly for fees).
I actually like Carvalho’s proposal. I haven’t followed the fighting though. I also don’t think people will support it. Too many people are attached to what they think they understand about Bitcoin’s success.
Sats hands down. Now that I can think of 1000 sats is about a dollar, its easier to make a translation in my mind when needed. I am looking foward to 1 sat being about a penny. Won't be long now.
Definitely. I value sats way more than the way they convert. Spending 5$ feels like nothing. Spending 5000 sats feels like a lot to me. Because I know how much I can make happen with 5000 sats on here and nostr.
Bitcoin and sats. Although I find it a little awkward that 100 000 000 stas is one bitcoin (the number of zeroes does not divide by 3), but that's what it is.
I am just a fan of bitcoin.
As easy as it is to call it sats, bitcoin encompasses everything.
For the people who know, you can just say point zero one bitcoin and they will know it means 0.01 btc.
for onchain wallets - BTC for LN wallets - sats
So progressive Darth!

It's the most logical way to deal with denominations. Not a single person uses BTC for LN, it's always sats.
This is the way.

Is there a lot of fighting going on with the terminology?

It has gotten easier now. But dont get too caught up in the fiat mindset.

Yes, its important to have it relative to something. But keep in mind fiat is depreciating.
what happens at BTC = $1,000,000
10 sats will be a dollar, right?
I prob did meth instead of math or something, but doesn't it become like bit is now?
"BITCOIN" (only) will create a lot of confusion, will be a goldmine for scammers.
Where did this discussion come from? I also saw some memes on nostr.

Thanks Darth! What a bullshit idea tbh

For sats below 100M, Satoshis is more appropriate.
For sats above 100M, Bitcoins is more appropriate.
Bitcoin+sats
ah shit... clicked "sats" already before I realized there was a "bitcoin+sats" option.
PLEASE, DEMOCRATIC OVERLORD, COULD YOU ADJUST MY VOTE?!
Bitcoin + Bits + Sats
Republic credits.

Bitcoin and sat , it's my mental cliché.
Kibbles ‘n bits
Damn who would of know stackers just want all of them lol
