I am surprised that they never did that in the US. They still might be in business, yet had they done it.
The kids were always blown away by the choices they could make in that store. It has been a long time since I have seen anything like the choices of the ToyRUs.
Where do American kids buy toys these days? Target?

It looks like you have to go to Target, Wal-Mart or, even better, a thrift store. The thrift stores have a good assortment of older toys for kids. We just got an old Mr. Potato Head for a gift to kids. It is a bit more substantial than the new ones. So much of the new stuff has disappointing quality.
