- or he's just trying to make investors horny

I believe others within Anthropic and other foundational model developers have stated it's a straight shot to AGI from here... o3 results already seem to be superintelligent across many different disciplines.
Scary times ahead. If not 2025 then 2027 or 2030 it's academic at this point.

Exciting except they are commoditizing intelligence, what makes humans special.

I don't think history is will be a useful comparator here. The world will have never seen so many jobs get replaced all at once across multiple industries. This clash will prove to be more like an alien invasion IMO.
There is already a dearth of quality jobs worldwide. Any trip to a developing country shows there are tens of millions looking for opportunities but end up stuck selling a few vegetables street-side.
