Being a territory is a better deal than being a state anyway. I suggest Canada negotiate for that. No voting and no taxes.

Oh dang. I didn't realize they paid Social Security taxes. I don't even know what "self-employment taxes" are.
The comparison to Vermont is strange, since Vermont is much smaller.
