I am about to record an episode of the Satoshi's Plebs podcast today with @mcintosh and we will be discussing how Bitcoin is not like the other crypto projects.
We will probably talk about how Bitcoin is decentralised, was fairly distributed from the start and is based on proof-of-work.
What are the points that you think when comparing Bitcoin to crypto like Ethereum and memecoins?
Or are there any crypto projects that you like, for example Monero?

We are in 2025 and people still debating about shitcoins vs bitcoin on podcasts instead of talking how the fuck to use Bitcoin all over the world...

Thanks Darthcoin! I really appreciate your guides! βΊοΈ
This is not to argue for shitcoins. It's going to be an educational episode so beginners will understand the distinction between Bitcoin and crypto. I personally still get questions "what about other projects?"... I always say "Bitcoin ONLY and here are the reasons..."
Just curious what people use as arguments that's all. From your guide you focus on lightning which is a great example of how Bitcoin is used in the real world. I didn't think of it as part of this discussion, so thank you! π§‘

The whole "educational" episode must end in 5 seconds, just post this meme and let them watch it for 5 seconds.
you can put a DarthVader breathe in the background... to feel the pain
That's it. No more debate, move on into Bitcoin. Do not waste their time and your time with debating the differences.

Seriously now I am getting tired of the plethora of podcasts talking only shit news and debating the differences between x and y, macro bullshit economics and all that garbage.
Is just repeating over and over again the same crap but NOBODY is talking how the hell people can use Bitcoin day to day, solutions for merchants, users apps, how to manage liquidity, even how to connect the damn SN to a node.
PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS and example of how to use Bitcoin in real life, show the world that is possible.
People and especially podcasters MUST understand that without real use cases for Bitcoin, we are doing all this shit for nothing. All those ads for hardware wallets and how to hold your sats are absolutely for nothing if people do not use their sats in real life, to live off them.

You have a great point there. It is hard to find a topic when talking every week about bitcoin so we end up talking about those tired topics as you say.
Personally we are doing this podcast without any ads and without making any profit... Just for the love of talking about Bitcoin.
Those practical subjects are something we want to do more, in order as you say to help with real adoption. Your feedback is a great push to focus on that area more from now on...
I also find it from my side, as a European citizen, that I need to keep track and help people to navigate so the roadblocks that are constantly popping up in Europe and how to use Bitcoin without fear...
I really appreciate your feedback, we will try to do better! π§‘

There is nothing else than Bitcoin! If you think you need another coin you don't understand how to use Bitcoin in that regard

I apologise, maybe I didn't phrase it properly. I am not suggesting there is a second best or anything else for people to use instead of bitcoin.
The fact is that there are plenty of new users coming into Bitcoin every single day and they need to understand why it is Bitcoin or nothing. I am just collecting the arguments for that. I myself have on boarded family and friends to Bitcoin and questions come up about other crypto, or in many cases I give information to prevent them from exploring other crypto. Everyone is on their own journey and they need some help to jump in the rabbit hole and keep focus on Bitcoin only.

I see, for me the proof of work argument works well most of the time. Whatever Jack Mallers says, basically. But then again, I have very technical friends in my bubble.

Absolutely! His talk in Prague last year about proof-of-work was one of my favourite presentations he has done π―
