Quick Tip of the day

How to convert your LNbits instance in a NWC wallet provider for its users:
How? Add the manifest json into your LNbits admin page - extensions
https://raw.githubusercontent.com/riccardobl/nwcprovider/refs/heads/master/manifest.json
  • You will see the NWC extension ready in your extensions list. Activate it.
  • go to nostrclient extension in lnbits and add 2-3 relays
  • go to NWC extension and create a NWC connection linked to a lnbits wallet
  • scan the QR code with Alby Go and test if you can see all the transactions, balance, send/receive.
Done, now you can use any lnbits account on the go using a NWC connection on any application that need a NWC wallet, INCLUDING SN
This is a little off topic, but I know you keep up with Blixt. This morning, for some reason, I opened my Blixt wallet, and I prepared to wait a few minutes for all the channels to become available, like I always have to. For some reason, though, all three of them had remained open overnight, and I was able to zap immediately. This was a nice surprise. I'm sure it was a weird accident, but have you ever experienced this?

Maybe you had activated the "persistent mode" in settings. That will keep the LND service online.
reply
I have had persistent mode activated since you recommended that to me a long time ago. The channels would still go inactive once I closed the app. Do they remain active for you? FYI, I'm on a graphene mobile.
reply
Yes, it should remain active and online if is activated. Is possible that you restrict something for Blixt app. You will see a notification about that, that stays always on your taskbar.

Okay, so does that mean my wallet would receive a lightning payment even if the app is closed? I'm really wondering if it could be an SN attached wallet option? I don't need it for my Blixt use case.
reply
btw Blixt just released a new version, updating the LND (fixing channel vulnerability) https://github.com/hsjoberg/blixt-wallet/releases/tag/v0.7.1
Yes. Did you activate your LN address in Blixt? You can test with that.

Not yet for sending. Only if they activate NWC. You still can use Blixt with WebLN on mobile for SN. Is not so elegant like NWC but for mobile can be an alternative. But for receiving you can use the @blixtwallet.com LN address.
