Maintaining an army is like a Prisoner's Dilemma. The world would be better if all nations disarmed, but if one nation disarms, another nation can take advantage of it. Thus, all nations maintain the force of arms to protect against one another.
Thus, I think most people see the army as a necessary evil, but a force meant to be used in deterrence and ideally not to engage in actual combat. That's why people respect soldiers but hate wars. And they recognize that most of the time, the wars are waged for nefarious reasons to benefit those at the top.
I agree; this is why I mentioned the same. Like, yes, you can think this way, but what about other people and their countries? Of course, other countries will invade you; that is why it's a
necessary evil,
like you said. Thanks.reply
No. Is even more simple: make banks and gov obsolete, by not using their fiat anymore.
and watch this excellent talk about Bitcoin vs war, by Stefan Molyneux, from 2014
