I feel like the doomsday clock is a rather arbitrary measure, but we can all sense the tension, confusion, and absurdity in the world right now. I think a lot of this stems from the food we eat, the light we're exposed to, and the information we consume. Technology doesn't help, as it amplifies flawed thinking and creates echo chambers that accelerate our downward spiral. But despite all this, I believe there's still plenty of optimism to be found.
After all, you can't recognize good without acknowledging the bad, and humans have been through tough times before - we've survived ice ages and other catastrophic events. I don't think we're going to drop the ball this time around... at least, I hope not. There's still a chance for us to turn things around and create a better future.
