My goal with this site is to be transparent and build it with you guys rather than for you. In addition to open sourcing the code, I've made the analytics for the site publicly available in pursuit of this. You can view them real time and anytime: https://plausible.io/stacker.news (link is also in the footer).

This should also challenge us to make better users/engagement go up technology.

I haven't found an easy way yet to open up the database but we have 255 registered users so far and nearly half, 122 users, have sats in their wallet. These numbers seem small now, but it's only been 6 weeks since launch and I was out with the plague for a few weeks. To the moon! 🚀

replying to test the cascading grey style sheets... cool effect.

re: tips - I wonder if there could be a setting to tip the site for every up-vote, perhaps in lieu or alternate to boosts. That way when use up a sat, some sats go to the site.

I’ve had this thought too. It’s hard to communicate though that the sats alternate. But maybe it doesn’t need to be communicated entirely or maybe I have another field in addition to sats and boost - tips - on every post that increases appropriately and that’s enough. Something to continue thinking about.

I was just thinking your interviewer on the Thriller podcast mentioned spending lots of sats- i only loaded 1000 sats and I can't seem to use them up fast enough without feeling like i'm manipulating the threads!
