The Namecheap Bitcoin integration is much hyped after the announcing $73M in revenue. #777212
So today I was excited to transfer my domains to them... only to discover they don't support lightning.
It hurts because I don't see a reason why purchasing/renewing/transferring a domain needs to exist on the blockchain forever.
Hosterbox accepts lightning.

given canada's recent great history of leaving people alone i'dnt necessarily run towards a canadian domain registrar :)

Copy that 🤣

Fair point. I've been using them since 2021. It is pretty awesome to pay in lightning, no id.

Can you use TerraForm with their VPS/hosting offerings?
reply
Haven't tried. I just use them for a shared hosting setup for a pretty simple website.

I noticed this too. They claim to but it doesn't give the option. Pretty disappointing.

Thanks for bringing this up. But consider this.
They should accept lighting but the difference between accepting bitcoin on-chain and running a lightning node and managing inbound liquidity or paying someone else to do that for you isn't nothing. Have you contacted them requesting it? I suspect if they get enough requests they might do it.

You can always do a bolt swap. Also consider njal.la, bit more expensive but reliable
