Kathmandu is an interesting place, especially dal bot. Did you get to Pokhara? That is a nice place to take some rest after the business of Kathmandu. The bus ride through the mountains was best taken at night though, it was a real hair-raiser during the day.

Nope, I stayed very close to Boudhanath all the time, except for a very special hike to Nagi Gompa!
