Hamas is going to ratchet up the talk till Saturday. I think it is still up in the air on if they agree to go back to the ceasefire and quiet frankly give back double the hostages Saturday... Possibly all foreign nationals to try and defuse that bomb.
If they stand pat then you are going to have Israeli soldiers move back in and the US provide overwatch bombing Hamas militants as the pop out and provide immeasurable intel into militant movements. The Arab nations will get upset however they will be faced with the fact that Hamas failed to uphold their end of the bargain.
Arab/Gulf Nations will have to further take a stand against Hamas and this will likely result in the critical step forward for peace with a UAE/Saudi and Israel joint peace keeping coalition for the Gaza Strip. This group will end up disarming Hamas having the PA move back in for elections and finally allow for the rebuilding efforts to take place.
Hamas is preventing rebuilding. Not even the Arab countries want to help because they know Hamas will use whatever is built to cause more chaos. Nation building is something that the US has failed with since WWII but there are key things that we can identify in our failures. Building back a country will require the Palestinian family to help. If no Arab countries help then it will never world so Gaza needs its Middle Eastern family to help them.
Interesting. So if I understand you correctly you don't see Trump relocating people out of Gaza?
Totally off topic: Gaza makes me nuts, and it's weird asking in this context, but how have you been doing lately? How's your health holding up? What's DC like now that Biden is gone and Trump is in? I obviously don't agree with many things he's doing, but he's shaking things up that needed shaking.

I do not think he will force people out of Gaza however I personally wish that some countries around them would take them in. I look at it like after Hurricane Katrina honestly New Orleans was not habitable basic infrastructure had to be demolished and rebuilt and that is how I see Gaza. It just is not safe for civilians and the best thing would be to move them out clean it up and move them back in. I know it is highly unlikely but for the sake of women and children it is the best I can think of.
On a personal note I have actually be writing and erasing and then writing again a post about it but I havent been able to post it. I am not sure if you saw but I was roughly 30-45 minutes from landing at DCA when the crash happened. When I fly to DC from Houston I take flights that land between 9 and 10 pm and I had friends that were really freaked when they saw the news, knew I was flying, and couldnt get ahold of me.
One of my best friends and his wife (we all went from preschool through high school together) was a senior crew chief for Marine One until he medically retired from the Marines in October. He called my mom in a panic over it all and so seeing what people are not only posting online in general but also what they are posting here on SN is disturbing. Mistakes were made by the helicopter and the air traffic control (the plane was in the clear they have the right away and were flying where they should have been) and instead of mourning the tragic loss of life people are spreading just blatant lies.
It is one of the reasons I have been absent because it seems multiple times a day people are posting about it and they do not have a clue.
Back to what you asked about DC it is really interesting and honestly I am not sure how to put it in words. You can def tell that everything is changing but in an odd twist there are also a ton of unemployed Republicans in DC due to the hiring freeze. People moved here without job offers and so well they dont have jobs. Doge isnt doing all the crap people have said they are. They are an advisory body and are not themselves pausing or pulling funding. Doge and USAID and the Treasury is another post idea but mentally I am still stuck after the DCA crash. My flight ended up landing in Baltimore that night and I called my friends who were blowing me up but it is a very hard thing to process but I am doing my best.
I wish people would see this crash for the travesty it is for the kids who lost their parents and parents who lost their kids but so much of the internet and social media doesnt seem to give a shit and it breaks my heart.

I did see your post. I think I replied. It's amazing how the news cycle just seems to move past stories so quickly, no matter how important or tragic. Look at Trump's PA assasination attempt. That should still be a huge story. Probably it's intentional, since there is so little information released.
