Oh, @Undisciplined? That legend is a riot! As a fan of the Las Vegas Raiders and the Miami Heat, he definitely brings some fiery takes to the table. Plus, hosting the degenerate corner series about sports betting? That's the kind of fun and slightly wild energy that keeps things interesting around here. Whether you're looking to discuss gridiron strategies or the best in hoops, @Undisciplined always has something intriguing up his sleeve. Gotta appreciate someone who stirs the pot and keeps the sports debates hot!

To @Undisciplined, and whom it may concern,
cc @siggy47, @grayruby, @OriginalSize, @030e0dca83, @StillStackinAfterAllTheseYears, other past crowd funders, and of course the ~econ posters.
The ~econ territory is roughly 1 year old this month. When I originally registered it, I had a fantasy of being able to steer two very cool things 1) an organically growing KYC-free BTC-denominated cashflow turned treasury that I could effectively give away without the trouble of paper-work b) an economically-savvy community that would be intrinsically motivated to help design incentive-backed BTC-adoption games -- seeded, or even sustained, by #1. Seemed like it could be really fun.
Just a few months ago, we started breaking even on a month-to-month, sats-denominated basis, albeit not yet running a cumulative profit. So the fantasy is getting closer, but still far away. However, an inconvenient blessing landed for me; work started ramping up even more. I was recently promoted, so the next 12 to 24 months looks both bright and busy for me. It sounds odd, but I don't have a spare ~2h per month even to update the accounting, or even script it, like I want to, let alone build those games. Family and work need to take priority, for me.
So - @Undisciplined, are you still up for taking over? If so, I have three conditions, and it's yours.
1 - If/when you ever sell or even transfer the territory I get a right of first refusal, at whatever prevailing terms you're seeking, less 300K sats. The roughly ~900K sats I've put in so far, carry forward at a third. Example - if you had a buyer willing to pay 1000K sats, I'd have a right of first refusal to pay you 700K sats. A "buy-it-back-credit" of 300K sats, if you will. If you never sell or transfer, you owe me nothing. If for some reason the buy-it-back-credit becomes incompatible with the future, you can adapt it as you see fit in line with the spirit, intent and magnitude of the claim -- measured in sats. 2 - If/when the features arrive for co-management & governance, you'll consider inviting me back to help with both. You don't have to add me back, but you do have to consider it. 3 - You honor the spirit of the Owner's Pledge, I made during all prior crowd funding. Repeated below for completeness. Since you were by far the largest contributor, the balance of the liability associated with this pledge is empirically on the order of just ~100K sats.
Fair? If not, let me know how to adapt.
Of course, these terms are inked in trust. I trust you to honor them. They are intentionally vague. Expecting high-integrity and in good faith, is sufficient here. At least for me.
I'd transfer today, or within hours of me seeing your acceptance.
Thank you, @jeff

Owner's Pledge

If this territory ever runs a cumulative net profit, I'll find a way to do right by the earliest contributors. There is no guarantee of that scenario. Most likely, it'll take the form of "pay-it-forward"-style BTC-adoption/effort/charity, commensurate with their contributions.
reply
Your terms are acceptable (to me and, probably more importantly, to the wife).
Let me know what needs to happen for a peaceful transfer of power.
Btw, you will be welcome back with open arms in whatever capacity you like, whenever you like. I plan on paying the yearly rate, so we can always work out the cost share straightforwardly, when that time comes.
reply
You are a poor negotiator. Haha. Congrats.
reply
No kidding. That's why I'm not a semi-retired business guy.
reply
And do u pledge to start an ~Econ podcast and have @denlillaapan as a guest?
reply
Absolutely not. I may well do that, but I will make no such pledge.
reply
Done, enjoy!
reply
Dang, that was easy.
Now I need to prepare an announcement.
reply
Congratulations for becoming a territory owner here for the first time. Fist time, right?
reply
reply
Now the territory cost is just halved, I'm kinda itching so much more than before to own one but I'm just not having any good idea to start with.
reply
I remember the day they launched wondering if I was missing out. It's only a year later, now, and I have clarity about the decision.
Be patient and your opportunity will present itself.
reply
I can take over ~stacker_sports. I don't think I'm fit for others if someone sells or discards or abandons.
But with all the fuss around assmilking, I even gave it a thought. Haha
reply
There are so many innovations still to come.
Someday, maybe in the not too distant future, an ~India territory might be viable (especially with how well you've done at recruiting). Once we have a functional cross-posting system, you could house all India related content there as well as having it posted in other territories. That's just one suggestion.
Another possibility, is that you could found a cricket sub-territory of ~stacker_sports, once we have sub-territories.
~Econ is tailor made for you with so much knowledge you possess about economics and trade. When you look at my past posts, before I went so much with sports, I used to post a lot about Indian economy. I'll try to make a comeback.
reply
I hope you do. I really enjoyed those posts.
Territory cost just halved?
TIL.
I missed that announcement.
All well. Hopefully gets @Undisciplined to a surplus sooner!
reply
No take backs!

I know. It definitely changes the economics, but not the fact that I have no time to put in.
I'm happy to basically have donated and participated in this experiment to get it to this point.
Wow! What a bio! It's only today, I've read it.
Nice to see your Olympics Medal 🥇 here!

I'm wearing it with pride.

This is definitely a big achievement as you gonna keep it for at least 4 years!

have been described as the Pythagoras of pushups.
citation required
reply
What this means is that rather than performing Isoscelean pushups (both hands equally spaced out from the chest and an equal distance from the feet), they instead have mastered the more difficult Pythagorean pushup, where one hand is placed above the head, with a right angle formed between the other hand and the feet
reply
It's pretty embarrassing that the Pythagoras of pushups had never heard of Pythagorean pushups. I don't quite understand the technique as you've described it but I'll try to figure it out.
reply
Dude you'll be quite the chonky boy then, ain't it?
reply
I hope that means something different where you live
reply
Chonky as in: Mad-Muscle-Maniac
reply
I've just been trying them. So you have say the left hand a little bit below the shoulder, and the right hand, not so much above the head, but at the level of the head (but still out to the side). The angle from the right hand to the left hand and then down to the feet (taken as one point) forms a right angle. The hypotenuse is from your right hand down to the feet.
Of course, for balancing the exercise, the position of the hands should be interchanged after some number of reps.

@grayruby said it. I swear.

I can confirm.

26 sats is a pretty cheap price for your compliance.
I might going to call you both partners in crime now.
reply
You have no way of knowing that those sats were mine. (You probably do don't you)
reply
I can but I don't.
You made me realize I included a grammar mistake in my message though. I already regret writing it. Here is my attempt at salvation:
I might going to call you both partners in crime now. I might call you both partners in crime now.

Your nostr link is broken?

Is it? It takes me to my profile page, so I'm not sure how to troubleshoot it. I'm still pretty dumb about using nostr, though.

SN underground was here

Here's the thing, I knew that was the mistake I was making, but I didn't know how to do it right.
Cheers!

Ah ok, I see! I will move my reply to SN underground now.

I found you on Damus. I am new to nostr as well

I didn't say I was new. I don't have a great excuse for still not knowing what I'm doing.

@Undisciplined you got some SN Badges on your nostr profile! Now it's time for some Sticky Stickers ;)

Neat, but I'll wait until I've earned the biggest stickers.

if you keep your hat for another 625 days, we post it to you! For now are on nostr ;)

Yes it is client specific

I see. I missed that on my first read through of the post.

Do you belong to the Society of Labor Economists?

Not that I know of, but sometimes you have to register for things like that in order to speak at conferences, so I might be.
Professional societies are not something that appeal to me.

Howdy @Undisciplined, glad to see you're one of the most prolific stackers around and a proud cowboy!
Just want to introduce you to the ~AGORA territory, a place to buy and sell your products or services with other stackers and obviously use bitcoin P2P as a medium of exchange.
Read this intro guide whenever needed, and if you have any feedback or suggestion on how we can make this space more useful, please do get in touch!
Wish you great and prosperous times around this wonderful corner of the internet!
Stay tuned, stack sats ;)
