Our logo is on here, and I don't know why, maybe as a placeholder, but this looks really neat.

@k00b good point, sorry about that! Indeed its a placeholder - the website is still a draft. The logo(s) will probably be removed shortly.

My hope for TollGate is that it becomes a protocol rather than a product. My hope is that TollGate has proud users who are willing to fork it if they disagree with how it develops and who educate about its core principles. My hope is that the users make such websites in future and that no one has control over what is said about TollGate.

That said, this website is a contribution from a talented and generous designer who is helping us with UX. I shared the draft of this website on nostr to celebrate the progress that we are making and I didn't expect the post to have this much reach. Hopefully we can soon onboard real users so that they make their own websites to advertise their ISP services.

SN logo is on many sites... another one is nutstash.app. Have been seeing it around here and there

reply

So long as the devs of those sites are cool, we are cool, but kind of weird because afaik all the ecash people are #nostronly ... maybe they're just #lurkersonly.

reply

can you prove it or is just an assumption? too many GMs on nostr afaik

reply

Oh I just haven't seen any of them post or comment here in awhile.

reply

Its clearly just a "Look what people are saying about us on popular social media sites"

Your logo is actually a hyperlink: https://stacker.news/search?q=tollgate

If you click on the SN logo, it shows stacker news posts about tollgate.

I love this idea! I would sign up in a minute, but is this a viable product technically?

reply

What do you mean?
BTW it doesn’t look complete since the app isn’t there yet

Nice catch! it's one of the projects that participated at the past @satsnfacts unconference. Here the crowdfunding campaign https://geyser.fund/project/opentollgate

So, does this accept lightning or just digital deposit certificates?

This could be a really good business model at large bitcoin conferences where the cell service is overwhelmed by thousands of people all using data.

I went to Bitcoin 2021 and it was a nightmare just trying to do basic things like call an uber or send an image via text.

Interesting they didn’t reach out to you about using your logo on there site? Especially if your now looking like a supporter of the project that you may or may not want to be associated
