Alm dogs are so lovely however all of such breeds are my favourite. They shed a little, manageable, don't require so much of exercise and still are very fast and energetic.

Is it a variant of the German Shepherd, or are both variants of another breed? I couldn’t find this information in the article.

I don't know. When you see the two breeds together they seem different to me. The malis are smaller, leaner, and not as bulky.

I found it similar because of the skull shape and the lower-set hips. These shepherd breeds have some common traits, just like hounds.

Those are very smart dogs. Basically like the German Sheppard but smaller.

Yes, smaller, faster and more agile. When I used to do Schutzhund training with my dog the malis were always the best. Their bite work was scary.
