Alby hub sending appears down for me. It's weird because I can receive fine. Liquidity is good - my alby hub just isn't seeing spend requests at all. Why would one work and not the other?
reply
Back. I'm not sure what it was.

maybe it's stuck finding a route which it doesn't have to do for receiving
reply
Could've been SN. I attached LNC then it cleared up at the exact same time ... maybe the client cache got fudged.
reply
Nah I have direct channels with SN and I can't even make a donation.
I sent them a support email.

That moment when you don’t tip at a restaurant while ordering because you didn’t even get your food yet, the cashier is visibly pissed and you’re then glad you didn’t tip.

This happened in Austin?

Yes, at the Italian restaurant at 8th street, next to the old PlebLab.
But I asked to tip afterwards and did so because the service while eating was great (including from the cashier as a waiter).
What I quoted was only what I was thinking after I saw her initial "no tip"-expression.
reply
I was talking with a friend the other day about the tipping culture; so weird that why they don't charge the % on the menu, so customers don't waste time thinking how much to tip, and the waiters should really do their job, I mean that's what they are paid for.

I never really understood why waiters get paid basically next to nothing and be forced to rely on tips. Okay, somewhat of an incentive to serve better but at that point hire better.
reply
It seems like a bad triangle: waiters expect customers to tip them, or else customers get shit service; why the owner doesn't pay a fair salary and hire the people who actually enjoy doing the job, and ppl can enjoy their meal.

Wrong question / lack of details. What connection you are using? NWC, direct CoinOS app, web, SN "interceptor" ? For sure their NWC relay is (again) borked.
reply
Nothing's working (NWC, send/receive via web app). I can only access the website.

Had to settle personal (find temporary lodging, change my son’s bank accounts) and professional tasks (set the mid-year paper) alike, but also found time to:
  • read β€œDavid and Goliath” (Malcolm Gladwell)
  • drink a cup of Asahi beer
  • have a nap
