Great site to do some gold digging for interesting and very relevant interactive charts and numbers with a lot of filters.
The downside is that you need to create an account first but it's worth it.

Impressive how the U.S. has more gold than any other country, and even more surprising that Germany and Italy have so much in reserve. How did they manage to keep so much after World War II?

US has been the leader for a very long time in it. European countries also hold substantially. I was surprised to note that India has increased it right after Poland for 2024. Also from 2020 to 2024 India and China have been increasing it very aggressively.

Yes. It does look bad here but if you'll look it on the site, it feels better because it's an interactive chart and I've just screenshot it.

You can see that these are countries that want to break away from the influence of the dollar or fear an imminent conflict, like Poland. I suppose so.

Yes, you're absolutely correct about China and Poland. India afaict does not want to break away from dollar as eagerly as China wants.
