It's crazy how much seems to change musically decade to decade, but how deep the roots of influence go.

Elvis Presley served in the United States Army from 1958 to 1960. He was drafted in March 1958, already a music star.
Recruitment and Destination
On December 19, 1957, Elvis received his draft notice.
On October 1, 1958, he arrived in Bremerhaven aboard the USS General Randall to complete his military service in Germany.
He was assigned to the Third Armored Division in Friedberg, Hesse.
