We've removed the leaderboard. It's been the source of the most entitled and vitriolic behavior to date. My sense is it puts people in a competitive mood which is generally bad for discourse. We'll see how it goes.

Multi auth has been refactored to be more reliable (via @ek and @sox).

You can search with just a @nym or ~territory now (via @SimpleStacker).

We auto post the hottest stories to X and nostr every hour now. So you should see us on those channels a bit more.

We don't erroneously provide lnurl-verify urls on un-proxied invoices anymore.

We prevent resubmission (double paying) when paying a bounty.

Since starting the Open Source Contributor Award Rules (OSCARs), we've paid a total of 20.5m sats to 44 contributors for 206 contributions! View a nearly up to date list of contribution awards here: https://github.com/stackernews/stacker.news/blob/master/awards.csv

(I'll try to payout any completed unpaid bounties by EoW.)

We are hiring.

Multi auth isn’t multi factor auth, right? That’s still to come?

Yep, they're different things. We still plan to do multi-factor auth.

Fantastic!

Oh lol, you are right. I knew the name was bad in some way haha

Yeah, this is only for switching between accounts. There’s no MFA yet (but we have a draft PR).

reply

Cool, excited to see it! IIRC I am the one who opened the original feature request too lol clearly I’m into these things

reply

Leaderboard is the easiest way to see stacking vs spending ratio. That will be missed. Otherwise it is worth a shot.

We'll provide retrospective stats in the future. Plan is for an end of day recap notification.

You can see it here too: https://stacker.news/satistics/graphs/day

But it does involve a few extra clicks

reply

I know I can find it in statistics. I just isn't as easy as clicking the leaderboard and finding out I spent way too many sats. Haha

I enjoyed seeing how many sats I've cumulatively sent on this site.

reply

My zaps to sn@stacker.news are all failing on nostr.

reply

Ah, @sn doesn't have a wallet attached. I updated it. Thanks!

In the immortal words of the cast of Hulu's The Great: Huzzah!

reply

Hmm, I kind of miss the feature of seeing how much rewards I'm slated to get. I like licking my lips in anticipation.

reply

finally! 🥁

reply

Looks good to me

reply

All that's left is to completely remove the rewards to fulfill the prophecy!

reply

I don't think that's a good idea, my friend.

reply

Yeah, probably not. That was SN kicking the bucket, and it's been on its way out for a year, you know?

reply

good, that is real stacking, when you do not spend your sats on meaningless things. Now stackers will think twice before they will post some garbage...

reply

because you are on SN only to assmilk ? darth-SN-TOLD-YOU.jpg

There was a leaderboard? I never noticed that... I know about this https://stacker.news/top/stackers/week

reply

It was on the /rewards page. Link at the bottom.

reply

I am glad that as a platform, SN is looking to improve, always leading us to continue working and sharing quality content.

reply

I wish we could just see our own rank with a quick rundown of the day.

reply

We'll provide retrospective stats in the future.

reply

Seriously though, shouldn't there be an easier way to see our daily earnings and spend? Is the top stackers the only gig going?

reply

You can see it here too: https://stacker.news/satistics/graphs/day

We'll probably remove top stackers by value eventually as well.

reply

Top stackers by value is kinda like a rough leaderboard, so yeah, makes sense to ditch that too. And on that link you sent, it'd be way better if it just showed today's stuff by default, not the last 24 hours.
