It's time to summarize the last week all over the world. We already have a bunch of countries that have won their spot in the World Cup. US, Canada and Mexico won their ticket as host countries. Then, in this March window, four more teams have earned theirs. Japan, Iran, New Zealand and Argentina have joined the host countries more than one year in advance. Good job.

Let's look to what has happened elsewhere.

Two of newly qualified national teams came from this area. At this stage, there are three groups of 6 teams. First two teams in each of them qualify to the World Cup. Japan beat 2-0 to Bahrein and qualified in their first match of this window. Iran after beating UAE and drawing against Uzbekistan, secured their spot.

There are 4 more spots to qualify straight to the World Cup and Uzbekistan, South Korea, Jordan and Australia are currently occupying them. Next window, to be held in June will decided the last teams.

None of the teams are qualified yet, as we are half way through the qualifiers. There are nine groups and only the first of each one will go through to the World Cup. Egypt and Morocco are in a confortable position to go through . Tunisia, South Africa, Algeria and Ghana look good too. The other 3 groups are pretty tight and next window will hopefully clarify a bit the situation.

In this area there are already 3 nations, as hosting countries, in the World Cup: US, Canada and Mexico. Other 30 nations are already participating through a group stage that will led the best 12 to a third round, where they finally fight for 3 spots at the World Cup . So, it's very early to see a clear favorite. There has not been matches in this window.

10 national teams fighting for 6 spots to qualify straight to the World Cup. One of them, it has been already taken by Argentina, following two important wins against Uruguay (away) and Brazil (at home). This one has been a great one, as they have beaten Brazil 4-1. Last time they received 4 or more goals was in 2014. Despite of the loss, Brazil is 6 points clear from 7th place and it looks confortable.

Ecuador is second in the table, followed by Uruguay, Paraguay and Brazil two points behind. There will be 4 more weeks to decide the qualified teams. Next window in June.

For the first time, this area has been awarded with one straight spot to the World Cup. Previously , the winner of this area always had to play against a team from another area, such as South America, making difficult to qualify.

So, during this window, a final four system has been played between New Caledonia, Fiji, Tahiti and New Zealand. The final matchup between New Caledonia and New Zealand ended up with the Kiwis qualifying to the World Cup (3-0 full time result)

The qualifiers have just commenced in this window, and some of the stronger nations are still not involved as they were participating in the UEFA Nations League QF.

Some nations, such as England, Poland, Norway, Bosnia, Czechia and Montenegro have won their 2 initial matches and have taken the lead in their group. However, we are at a very early stage and plenty of action is still ahead.
