It is going to blow my mind if the Jays offer him more than 600 mil and it not be a lifetime contract (like 14 years) it is hard to swallow. If he is wanting $50+ mil a year that is going to be extremely hard to swallow esp as he ages through his 30's.
If he was interested in taking a 4 or 5 year 30-50 million a year from the age of 34-40. Given that a lockout seems to be promised to occur in December 2026 and the risk of injury this year it is a heck of a gamble to go into the season without the guarantee.
They already offered him more than 400M. I believe it was 500M but had a lot of deferrals and he didn't want deferrals. The front office has totally screwed this up by not signing him or trading him two years ago or last offseason.
Yeah I will say Houston made the right move with Tucker. We have let way to many people just walk and taken the picks instead we turned Tucker into a 1st round pick and an all star plus an extra pitcher.
