I'm not sure if the piano would translate into playing the trombone, but I can't play either, so what do I know?
Right, it would take some getting used to using the breath and the mouth. My point is that all the notes are layed out on the piano, it's rhythmic and you use both hands and feet. If you can play piano learning another instrument will come a lot faster like it does when you speak multiple languages (so I hear anyway).
I don't think so, playing an instrument well might require even more mechanical skills that don't translate between them than "music skill."
