I think your analysis is spot on. But it doesn't apply just to Bitcoin, it applies to everything in life. Many of our efforts are going to fail. According to Biblical prophecy, (if you're a premillennialist), the world is eventually going to get worse and worse and fall into a terrible state of famine and authoritarian rule before the coming of Christ.

But the thing is, we aren't told about the timing of these events, only that they'll eventually take place. In the meantime, we're still called to do what's right... and Bitcoin is what's right. And we don't do it to serve ourselves, we do it because it's right. Because it honors God. (And I'm willing to defend the case that Bitcoin is a currency consistent with biblical principles.)

Thinking about things this way really kinda makes you immune to NGU-style thinking.
