Apple airshipped 600 tons of iPhones to the US from India before new US tariffs were scheduled to take effect, as reported by Reuters and The Times of India. Meanwhile, Nikkei Asia reports Apple, Dell, Microsoft, and Lenovo were pressing to ship as many “premium” devices as possible, like high-priced computers above $3,000 that would see the biggest price increases under the new tariffs.
According to Reuters, the company lobbied officials to speed up customs clearance, added workers, and temporarily kept its plant in India running on Sunday to achieve a 20 percent increase in production. Based on the planes’ capacity and the weight of iPhones plus packaging, the outlet estimates that about 1.5 million devices were shipped out since March, which could help Apple avoid raising prices for a while.
help Apple avoid raising prices for a while.
I don't know this to be true but I've heard that Apple has massive margins on their products. Not that there is anything wrong with that.

lol Nick Mullen, is that you?

It's a publicly traded company, you can look up all the numbers, everything gets published. Apples margins are not extraordinary.

It’s funny watching these trillion dollar companies scramble to move product to squeeze The last bit of profits they can out of the American consumer. If China is so great why not keep the product there and mark up the price American pay and capture the revenue over there.

If China is so great
In this case the phones were being shipped over from India.
reply
Logic still applies to China or India. Neither can’t compete with the American consumer
reply
but they do, don't they?

This sounds like typical Marxist claptrap. Apple only makes the phone because Americans (and many others( have found them extremely useful, and Apple can sell them for more than they pay under the previous tariff regime. There's no ulterior motive to "squeeze" profits out of people. There's just THE profit motive. Leftists act as if corporations kidnap people, take them to their stores and threaten them to make a transaction. No, you're only gonna make things people want to give you their money for. Profit is what makes that possible.

Wrong the artificial low wage Chinese workers make this even possible for Apple to act this way. Due to their communist government the employees don’t have the right to assemble and form a union and demand higher wages.
reply
Again, typical Marxist claptrap. A communist country is one big union, ya dope!

Forced by murder and prison. Get real dude
reply
You're literally forced to be in unions in most blue states for certain professions. Sure you won't go to prison or be murdered (if you try to leave) but not being able to work (and have a decent life) unless you agree to have someone negotiate for you is not much better.
