You're literally forced to be in unions in most blue states for certain professions. Sure you won't go to prison or be murdered (if you try to leave) but not being able to work (and have a decent life) unless you agree to have someone negotiate for you is not much better.
But this distortion is the reason the true cost of labor isn’t discovered. The world isn’t operating on free market principles. American corporations didn’t want to pay American workers what they felt was a fair wage so the used globalism and the rules based order to drive the cost of labor to zero by taking advantage of governments and people who have no rights or just haven’t developed the knowledge and compassion to run an economy based on western ideals or they just live in a crappy location with no resources
