For the record, I do love the gold bugs, especially the Monetary Metals guys.
I remember learning about the 12th century(?) Venetian perpetual bonds in an economic history class. If I recall correctly, there are families still collecting on those. It's hard to wrap your head around the idea that a one-time payment can be worth an indefinite payout.
truly. I don't know about the Venetian ones, but I know about the Dutch bond that Yale University holds that still pays out interest
