A year ago, during the Million Sat Madness competitions.
That was more quality + quantity maximization, though, rather than just quantity.
Maybe SN will go back to something like that again.

They did two months suspending daily rewards and paying out a really large rewards pool at the end of the month. I think it was about 3M sats total in March with the winner getting at least a million.
It was fun and exciting at first, but it definitely changed the vibe to something more competitive than casual. A lot of people were turned off by it and if you look at the analytics graphs SN really hasn't recovered from it.

I think I'd get burned out, it seems like I'd feel extremely punished for taking a day off, where as now, taking a couple days off is really fine.

The second month of it was much more casual, because most of us were burnt out from a month of going so hard. Ironically, I placed better the second month when I put in much less effort.
I think that wasn't the real cause.
