I hope not. It pretty badly ruined the vibe. A bunch of great regulars still haven't come back.
What happened? I'm not up to date with my SN lore...

They did two months suspending daily rewards and paying out a really large rewards pool at the end of the month. I think it was about 3M sats total in March with the winner getting at least a million.
It was fun and exciting at first, but it definitely changed the vibe to something more competitive than casual. A lot of people were turned off by it and if you look at the analytics graphs SN really hasn't recovered from it.

I think I'd get burned out, it seems like I'd feel extremely punished for taking a day off, where as now, taking a couple days off is really fine.

The second month of it was much more casual, because most of us were burnt out from a month of going so hard. Ironically, I placed better the second month when I put in much less effort.

I think that wasn't the real cause.

What do you think it was?

SÑ hasn't grown rapidly in this time period but it hasn't either gone downhill. It's been stable.
Why SN hasn't grown rapidly?
Some old man yelling at fresh blood us the real cause.

  1. That is downhill.
  2. The previous trend was uphill.
  3. That guy was also here during the uptrend.
I'm positive that the open hostility isn't helping, but at the same time, it's the internet. Thicken up that skin.
