This morning while poking around nostr I saw two breaking news stories that I hadn't heard about yet (Pope Francis death and Klaus Schwab stepping down).
This is the first time it has happened. I think this account is doing a good job of making nostr a go to news source.
Personally I'm tired of everyone circle jerk GM ing each other as the "influencers" get showered with zaps.
One of the things I liked and used most on Twitter was the quick news. If nostr becomes this hub, more people will definitely use it.
Thanks for sharing.

Whenever something happens that is a fluid situation, like a plane crash or shooting, X generally gives the story fastest. Gotta be very careful of rumors and plain wrong info, but I've found that generally the story comes out there first.

Me too.

Flash does a good job with breaking news, too, and interacts with people.

Yes. I saw them today too.

I think the first story of Pope's death also got to SN in time.
There are two breaking news about Bitcoin here as well

I didn't mean SN doesn't have breaking stories. I feel like SN is so much more, so it's not a big deal.

Sorry, I thought you're missing rsync.

I too see them zapping each other on such greetings. For this reason alone I don't often visit on nostr.

hahha pretty much, eh.
Reminds me of the cynic joke about the internet/fancy tech: all the world's information at our fingertips, and we watch cat videos?!
all the world's unstoppable message network... and we use it to GM each other?!

"as the "influencers" get showered with zaps." - I totally agree with you!
