BTC Citadels: wishful thinking OR real promise?

I see some Bitcoiners aspiring having citadels for BTC hodlers .... Im quite indecisive on my take
Part of me feels its a dumb idea, as we can just create mini-cities in isolation of the world we live in
The other part feels its a noble idea that could rally the troops by having more unity and cooperation within BTC hodlers
What is you take?

I think there may be pockets of physical citadels around the world, connected through the ultimate online citadel where sats connect everyone on every platform

It's not dumb. Finding your tribe and spending more time with them is obviously a good thing. Humans are very social creatures.
But while Bitcoin provides very efficient sound money, and people who value it are likely better actors than people who value alternatives, very efficient sound money is all it really provides. Citadels likely need other things to function well.

Mini cities can and should cooperate. Difference is power is more decentralized.
We already have citadels (Monaco, Andorra, San Marino, Vatican), we just need to orangepill them.

They are somewhat already forming just due to people wanting to be around other like minded people its been pretty cool to witness so far.....when quality people come together and enhance the quality of living not only for their own piece of mind but the local community

Austin is cool it is the Mecca in Bitcoin Country after all could always move to Houston or San Antonio which are within a reasonable distance from ATX. Don't be jealous wherever your located start the bitcoin community there. The saying goes if theres not a bitcoin club in your city start one!

Can someone explain to me what exactly a citadel is? Is it like, a HQ lightning node... or something more? Like a physical place? I'm a generous tipper

In this context, a Citadel refers to a physical location with high amounts of sovereignty, and likely security to enable it to stay that way. In order to procure or build one, a person, or group of people, would need great amounts of relative wealth. Think castle, with sufficient land formations and farm land. My understanding is that it would be large enough for the owner(s) to invite many friends and relative, should their safety be compromised.

I think its hard to know in these "early" years.
I'd ideally like to see an adoption more like the internet. So more people using it everyday, not like cut off tribes.
Bitcoiners are inspired by bitcoin & want to work in the space. I'm just wondering if its better they continue doing what they do best, & simply adopt a better more & thus create more time to do it.

Yes. But now we have a big war in Europe and refugees on both ends and this concept somewhat fails to address current situation which would mean that Free cities/Citadels aren't livable. Good idea though but... I could believe that El Salvador may become "a Citadel" but there is a lot going wrong right now.

I didn't quite get that, what has war in Europe to do with free cities?
If balkanization/fragmentation occurs to nation states I see the possibility of free cities emerging as quite natural. And as Bitcoin is a tool that reduces the size of the state I think it's a likely outcome. Long term of course.

Imagine Russians who got rejected when fleeing to other countries. Wouldn't they go in free city where they could continue live and work? It would mean an opportunity for free cities to out-compete national states while providing valuable services.
