Even Pearsall, who I like too, isn’t obviously a great 1st round pick.
At 31 he is a good pick. They reached a bit but he was really good once he got healthy. He will be 1a to Aiyuk. You could argue now they should have gone McConkey but he had medical red flags. Since Kinlaw the 49ers have not drafted guys with medical red flags early.
DeJean also had medical red flags and unfortunately they don't value C so JPJ and Frazier were not on their board in the first round.

49ers probably have one of the most unique boards of any team in the NFL. That is a positive and a negative. They miss on guys because they take them off for various reasons (medicals, off the field issues, lack of scheme fit, lack of culture fit etc) but they also hit on guys no one else does because they are confident in their culture/scheme/process that they can get the best out of them.
They had a 3rd round draft grade on Purdy but didn't need to take him until the last pick in the draft because they didn't think they needed a QB at the time and no one else had him on their board.
