It’s hard to argue against the genius that is Buffet, but he definitely got Bitcoin wrong. To be fair, he was mostly a value stock guy, so I think Bitcoin was a little out there for him.
How is this guy a genius? What products did he create?
Deep domain expertise, curiosity, and impact.
Genius isn’t limited to product creation.
And it’s more than just amassing wealth
That’s his domain expertise though, and he was one of the best ever.
Best ever? Or just longevity?
One of the best ever. I think it’s hard to say anyone is the best ever since investing has been around as long as time. The trend for much of the post 1980s was to invest small cap growth and he bucked the trend by going large cap value, and it worked.
But what did he invent in?
Abel will do a good job. He has been grooming him for years. Abel coming from the energy side might be a bit less antagonistic towards Bitcoin. Not saying they will buy it but maybe stop calling it rat poison.
