Jimmy gives his initial thoughts on Pope Leo XIV.
I also was kinda shocked it was an American Pope everyone in the church led us to believe this would never happen. Jimmy gives a great breakdown of everything.

Yes, I am curious as well. I'm not Catholic but I have been on a journey learning more about both the church of the west as well as the eastern Orthodox church. This is the first time I've really paid any attention to this type of thing.

Ya I grew up Catholic and didn't really appreciate it until I came back to it in 2020. I would say it has absolutely changed my life for the better and has made me see things much clearer than ever before. I just wish I would've listen to people in my family telling me to go to church when I was younger. Life can be an incredibly hard journey and depending how you grew up/circumstances having God in your life can greatly reduce 99% of that stress literally over night if you let him. I am far from perfect and am still a sinner but I feel in my heart, body and soul that I am walking the path of Christ. So many great things about the Catholic Church; two of them are the Sacraments and treasures it holds, you only learn to appreciate them in time. Also the symbolism, intentionality, preciseness and long history really comforts me. As a creative person, you see the artistry in a lot of the cathedrals where you will find very few flaws, its always quite remarkable to me. I could talk about it for hours to tbh.

I love reading stuff like this and its encouraging. There is so much to learn and experience as followers of Jesus. I love hearing people's experience in the church and following Jesus.

Thanks, hoping to share my journey one day. I think people would be surprised how much God has guided me toward building PlebLab. He has me exactly where I should be right now. It's like he has been training me my entire life to do this job, I was talking with my Mom this past weekend and she gave me some wonderful advice that I needed to hear, it was something I was struggling to understand.

It is still early, but everything he said in his opening statement was very enlightening and intentional. It spells out to me that he sees the world in a very troublesome time especially around society being hostile to each other.
"Peace be with all of you!
"Dearest brothers and sisters, this is the first greeting of the Risen Christ, the good shepherd who gave his life for God's flock. I too would like this greeting of peace to enter your heart, to reach your families, to all people, wherever they are, to all peoples, to the whole earth. Peace be with you!"
I believe God was working through Pope Francis with reaching and bringing as many followers to Christ as he could and it is great to learn how Pope Leo XIV will continue that. This past weekend at church we spent a lot of time praying for him, and learned a little more about his intentions for the church. I do absolutely miss Pope Francis the guy was an absolute rebel badass of a Pope and will likely never see another like him. I believe history will be a lot kinder to him.
