Why are y'all using this in the first place? Convenience?
Read Darth's guides and a least learn to be sovereign. Bitcoin banks are still banks and these guys are noobs.

it's ok to use custodial services in a limited way or for specific use cases as decoy or testing.
Coinos is a cool service but people abuse it.
But many losers are using them as primary and sometimes as the only one bitcoin account (will not name it wallet).
People nowadays are so lazy and dumb...
And I see many SN users with coinos account attached: such losers.
SN should limit or disable all these custodial accounts.

I use coinos for SNs and for small LN MoE payments.
Have tried using LN before other ways and failed losing some sats in the process - yes probably due to technical incompetence - am not a tech wizard like you.
Most people are not either.
Imo, LN needs to be easy for most or preferably everyone to use and so support Coinos as it is relatively easy to use, with the proviso that you would never hold any large sums on it.
Had given up on using LN until I became aware that coinos was available.

Not that I want to spy, but how can you tell what wallet is attached to an SN nym?

- they have horses and pistols
- they never talk about their LN nodes or ask questions
- they post crap
If a SN user have these these 3 points, then is using a custodial account attached, not a real LN node.

Ah! Heuristics!

I do not say that all SN users are using only custodial acc. There are enough others that they use own LN node attached, or at least a sub account from their own AlbyHub. That should be the least they can do.

I similarly limit my exposure while I test cashu. I'm on month 3 now. It's testing though; and not necessarily convenient. But this way I can at least tell people what's good or bad about it when asked.
This is going to be the last month that I use this daily though. I'm considering to take up @avbpod on what I read as a challenge (#977277) and build a cln with working hot standby next.

"Funds are safe" but data loss of over 24 hours... how are both possible?

The bank didn't get robbed, but they don't know how much money you had in your bank account.

The balance of my account is showing my balance (I think, correctly) so perhaps some transactions were caught in the data loss and they need to retrieve the data loss and adjust any affected balances before resuming liquidity?
Noticed on one coinos transaction made earlier this week the amount transferred showed very briefly on the confirmation page as double what it should have been before correcting to the correct amount.
