AAV does not equal cap hit. This is nonsense. They have 50M in cap space right now. We will see if they pulled forward some of Purdy’s cap hits when all the details come out. The cap is going to jump like 20% next season. 49ers are one of the best teams in the league at managing the cap.

Yea it’s misrepresented data for sure but directionally interesting. A lot of money for guys who will be 30+ during the contract terms

Williams probably only plays another two years max. CMC will be a question mark for sure but I expect Kittle to play well for a few more years. Bosa and Warner are 27 and 28. That’s not old at all for DE and LB. Purdy is 25 and Aiyuk is 27 but let’s see how he looks off ACL surgery.

I think for MLB and DE prime years are the 23-29ish period. Start to lose a step and have more injuries. Obviously there can be outliers like Ray Lewis, Calais Campbell etc but defence in general is extremely athleticism based imo
QB is really the only position where it could be argued the prime years include 30-35

If you think Fred Warner and Nick Bosa will suddenly become terrible players at 30 I will happily take that bet. Maybe not DPOY caliber players any more but I think they will both still be pro bowl caliber players and by the time they hit the age they are slowing down those contracts won't be tops in the league anymore. Bosa was only the top paid DE for one season. Few more years 10 guys will probably be making more than him and he will still probably be a top 10 DE.

Won’t be terrible. Just won’t be top 5 players at respective positions by 30 and likely more injury prone
Didn’t Patrick Willis retire in his early 30s?
