My office is across the street from a parking garage and a guy pulled in in a Miata convertible. One thing I struggle with is getting enough direct sun expose being a "keyboard warrior" to quote our biggest fans. I also don't really drive ever, or have a car-commute, so it's an especially silly fantasy, but I had brief daydream about getting my sun on a commute via a convertible.
It might be expired wisdom, but I recall soft tops tend to have a lot of problems so I looked for hard tops. According to wikipedia, only seven hard tops are in production, and five of them are "supercars" and one is Japan only.
Anyone have or had a convertible? Is it worth it?
I think it is too hot in Texas in the summer for a convertible. They are probably worth it in California or as a summer car in locations with four seasons, if that's your thing.

I'm not going to get one so geography doesn't matter much.
I'm just curious about the maintenance and utility. Also, if it's one of those aspirational purchases, like a treadmill, where we use it once or twice.

I have known a couple people who have had them and love them but as summer cars. They would store them in the winter.

I have one. It is totaly not worth it. Its just unending problems. A moonroof would be a better option, but they also leak.
