News Of The Week

Welcome to Books & Articles Weekly.
Thanks to everyone who contributed. @kr has once again given us the top post, and of course @denlillaapan made the top five.
Reminder: For the time being I will zap the top post half the rewards I receive before the next week’s issue, rather than split zaps into cowboy credits.
Happy reading!
. As always, please reply with suggestions and opinions on how to make this territory better.

Siggy’s Suggestions

This post went pretty much under the radar, although hopefully the generous boost will keep it visible for a while. @k00b has discovered this self published gem. From the prologue:
The aim of this text is to help the reader understand internetworking protocols by examining their history, to unravel the layers of complexity that have accrued in them over the decades, and to examine their impact on us as users of the Internet. It is an attempt to explore the foundations of the networked world that we inhabit, a world that is shaped not so much by traditional laws, customs, and social mores as it is by half-remembered blueprints and extant lines of code etched into the fabric of networked interactions.
It’s no surprise that @k00b was the one to bring this to our attention. I have already started to read this book.
