@Satosora may shake his head in despair, but my six-year-old son isn’t toilet-trained yet. Yes, he wears diapers to sleep. In this case, my wife and I are aligned. Just let nature take its own course. No need to pressure him. He will make his way to the toilet on his own accord eventually.
Which made my daughter’s accomplishment more amazing. She has been eyeing that toilet seat for a long time. Tonight, she took off her diaper and sat on the seat. I thought she was just playing around. However, she POOPED into it for the first time!
Earlier than her elder brother!
This is incredible! First stride towards independence.
As for the small moment, my boy asked, “Can you switch on the TV?” This sounds like a no-big-deal sentence, but in a country in which English is pervasive, he managed to avoid the Singlish way of asking (on the TV). This shows that he can code switch. Oh, I just had to correct him about a couple of times previously, so I can proudly proclaim that I am an effective teacher!
Awesome milestones!
Getting poop into the toilet was one of the biggest reliefs for us.

I have a feeling my daughter will get out of diapers before her brother. Haha. Quite exciting to witness if so

I imagine that might be something she'll enjoy reminding him about for the rest of their lives.

He’s already feeling the heat. He remarked, “Oh I lose to her.”

Nice job. It’s great when they just decide to go on their own and you don’t need to stress about it.

That, and when they learn to wipe themselves without help, is one of the most rewarding moments of parenthood. It's a total success!
