Ok, I’m 2 weeks out from my 1st 5k of the year. After 6 months I’m finally running pain free without any additional support in my shoes for my plantar fasciitis!!!
That said, I work too hard on the yard and house painting and it takes its tool when I do my hard workout for the week the day after. Unfortunately, I have all day work meetings and rain the next few days so today needed to be the day. I went off effort as opposed to time.
I did a 5k tempo in under 6:20 pace, want to race around 5:30 - 5:40’s so time to taper and focus!
Omg you run extremely fast for someone with foot pain!!
What app is this??

Garmin. I have a Forerunner model and upload to Strava.

Congrats on crushing that tempo! Taper smart, race hard, and stack those PRs (and sats)!

Thanks! Any races for you coming up?

Thanks! No races for me yet, but I’ve been trying to start running in the mornings. I’m doing 3km in about 12 to 15 minutes — still very new to it. I’ve lived a pretty sedentary life honestly. Even though I’m skinny (around 75kg), I’ve always worked in tech — first in an office, now fully remote.
But hey, I’m trying, and that’s what matters. Time to change some habits… and some paradigms too.

remote. Great job! Baby steps. I work in IT as well and now am fully remote. I get out over lunch for a run, sunlight, and fresh air.

Yeah, man, that’s the key — just getting outside and moving a bit. I totally get it. Remote life is awesome but dangerous for the body if we’re not mindful. I’m trying to make it a habit now — sunlight, movement, fresh air... feels like hacking life itself. 😅
