I never thought Rolland Garros had anything except clay. But certainly it's not a cricket pitch where only soil can be used to prepare it whether it holds or not till the game lasts.
Wow the L/R distribution of this audio is wild.

I'm not listening on a headphone but it has to be awesome because the recording is overlapping with the orginal sound.
Did you also notice how dangerous can a Cricket pitch gets once the cracks start opening? It is for that reason I say baseball is easier than Cricket but again the bats in Cricket compensate for that?

I don't think batting in baseball is easier than in cricket but I understand what you are saying about the condition of the field adding another element.

Batting in baseball is difficult due to the round shape of the bat which is more difficult to meet as balls directly coming at 100 mph. But it's a different story in Cricket as the pitch adds (or minimises) pace, swing and turn on its own. The bowlers either get help out of it or don't. I mean it often plays a crucial role on the outcome of a match.

I am definitely learning how the pitch can effect the game and increase or decrease the potential score. It is an interesting element. You can also have this to a lesser degree in baseball where the days weather or certain parks directional placement to the sun can make it harder for batters to see pitches well at certain times of day or wind can be a factor for or against batters.
