I don't know a lot about how Lightning works. Can you enlighten me on why you might lose sats when running a Lightning node?

Between level 6 and 7. But I didn't really go through the steps that you've outlined here. I just like technology in general and I found Bitcoin to be one of the tech that's interesting to me.

It's just a bonus that it's actually solving a core part of human economy and social organization.

True. UTXOs are hard to explain to people. To be fair, once you start getting into the weeds with how Bitcoin works you can quickly see how people just tune out since there's a lot of technical info and it also requires context to understand why it's being done the way it's being done.

Are they still going to use their colored coins or are they going to strictly use bitcoin for managing the Bisq network?

I started with Ubuntu way back when, but I fell off it. Went back to Linux later with Void Linux and never looked back since. I guess what I would say is that install a distro and stick with it, through thick and thin. Linux distros aren't that much different to each other nowadays and whatever you learn from one will most likely translate to another.
